SIXTEEN PADS BB007 RESULTS
It feels nice to be back yet with another Beat Battle. This time around we chopped Bob James and some of you did it pretty well. Out of the 40 entries the following 5 made us feel proud about hosting this event again. Here they come !
1). TOBABEATS produced the ultimate crouching banger. So peaceful yet banging. The mixing is nice, the snare selection is superb. Very chill yet perfect in its simplicity. Lot's of little delicate tasteful elements happen in the mix, there is some playfulness added to the bass lane. Very nice.
Watch out for our planned interview with the BB007 winner in the coming days to learn more about this man.

Congrats !
2). SABAMA - We know this champ quite well from the previous battles. Sir Sabama has a very musical and sophisticated ear. His delicate touch has made our heads nod many times before and it was not different this time around. We love the kick drum in this beat and the guitar chops at end are quite nice. We hate the snare though :) Matter of taste.
Banging nontheless.

3). illpit - pretty nice drum pattern and these obsessive repetitive chops. We like the darkness of this beat, and how raw it sounds. Cool bass also. Wish there was less wobbly empty wah wah moments. Bang!
4). EKOVIBRATIONS - another hidden banger. This could have been higher if it was not for this weird ugly note repeat bridge thing there. The main sequence is banging HARD, however the change ups seem very accidental and badly planned. Nonetheless it bangs heavily. With a bit work and a major clean up this could become a hit.
5). Shoolik - that's a nice beat. We loved the cheesy ,straightforward key play in it. We hated the drum rolls. The vibe it carries reminded us of those first the Streets albums..
Very cool.
There you have it. Our TOP 5. Clap clap.
Thanks to all the remaining contenders. Be back for the BB008!!
Keep pressing the rubber.
